A really great tale wrapped up in a tidy 66 pages. Surprisingly, although this is a SUPER short story, it didn't seemed rushed and the elements of a books structure are all there to enjoy. The beginning of The Whispers grabbed my attention and the ending gave me goose bumps. This is my first introduction to Lisa Unger and I'm pleasantly surprised. Lately, I've been trying to step out of my genre comfort zone, expand my horizons a bit. Unger's short story is a great combination of paranormal-thriller-mystery. Give me more!! And I have more, thanks to NetGally! Off I go to read the second book in The Whispers series, The Burning Girl: A Whispers Story.
